Allicin – AllicinMax
Allicin is the major biologically active component of garlic. First reported by Cavallito and Bailey in 1944, allicin is the key ingredient responsible for the broad-spectrum of antibacterial activity in garlic.
From immune enhancement to cancer prevention, there is a wide range of health benefit in allicin. Many clinical studies have shown that garlic/allicin has the ability to lower total cholesterol, LDL, or “bad cholesterol”.
Allicin is a natural defence mechanism of garlic. It is produced when garlic bulbs are crushed, or attacked by bacteria, microbes or fungi. Allicin is a naturally volatile compound but the stabilised allicin is available in the form of the AllicinMax and Allimed range of products.
How Much AllicinMax™ do I need?
Just one capsule of AllicinMax taken each day at mealtimes will provide enough allicin for your general health and well-being. Each capsule contains 180mg of stabilised allicin powder and 12 capsules or more can be taken per day on a regular basis. The ingredients of AllicinMax are non-GM maltodextrin, gum acacia and stabilised allicin. This allicin is very biologically active.
AllicinMax is not recommended for children under 3 years of age because they have not yet fully developed their immune system. For children between the age of 3 and 7 years, half the adult dose is suggested. For children over 7 years old the full adult dose can be taken. Read more…..
